Well, you’re probably wondering where we’re at with July 1 coming around the corner.  The creative space (TCS) is still creating quite the buzz.  Companies, agencies, politicians, social groups and artists of all kinds have been in contact with me and have all expressed a high level of excitement in TCS.  The delay in the “big move” is zero funds to renovate at his time.  And without the renos – the space is not rentable therefore signing the lease would be a dangerous risk.  89 Dunlop St is now for sale and supposedly at a cost around twice what it”s market value is.  It is a great building!

SO – what now?

it’s still on the table as an option to lease the 2nd floor and/or for someone with strong negotiating skills and deep pockets for purchase.
A few of us are looking for investors to buy a building (maybe 89 Dunlop) and TCS would be an anchor tenant.  The goal is still to take over 3500-4000 s/f to provide the ultimate co-work environment.

BUT in the meantime –  Instead of waiting for “the” building to come into play, I’ve decided to re-configure 101 (Rhubarb Media Space – 1300 s/f) to allow for 4-5 more permanent desks spaces.  14 total spaces. With your commitment to rent space we are going to upgrade our internet to a more powerful connection and ad a few wired drops.  I will re-sign the door to say The Creative Space which makes it better for all the companies to let people know where they work.  “I work in The Creative Space.”  Better than “I work in the Rhubarb Patch.”  Of which your clients go, “Huh?”

So please let me know if you still in on a desk – For the newbies, I will get you the contracts – buy the desks and chairs, do some moving around and launch TCS Beta 1.0. in July!

We hope to plan some TCS events this summer, an art install and hoping for a photography clinic this fall.
Thanks for hanging and doing life and work together.  The Creative Space will evolve with your ideas and passion for art, work, people and the planet.
